Former MEGADETH Guitarist FRIEDMAN To Perform BACH On Japanese TV
March 12, 2009Former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman will be the special guest on Asahi TV's long-running hit program "Daimei Nonai Ongakukai".
The show is a staple of Japanese television, now in its fifth decade on the air.
Friedman's performance of Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto" will be featured, as well as a talk segment with him and two of the most respected conductors in the country, Yutaka Sado and Michiyoshi Inoue.
The show will be broadcast three times; May 3, May 9 and May 10.
Friedman has been confirmed for this year's edition of Gods Of Metal festival, set to take place June 27-28 at the soccer stadium Brianteo in the city of Monza (near Milan),Italy.
Friedman released the "Exhibit A - Live in Europe" CD in the U.S. on August 19 by Mascot Records. According to a press release, "Live in Europe" is "an aggressive, passionate and absorbing live performance that exposes the beauty and the beast in Friedman's personality. The album was recorded in 2007 featuring audio tracks from his latest tour in support of the album 'Loudspeaker' performed in Germany, Holland, England, Israel, Czech Republic, and Italy between March 31 and April 10, 2007."
